Tania Reid

FOUNDER For the Crowded House

Hi! I am Tania and I started my this, my first business in 2012. After 12 years in the community sector, I wanted to specialise in supporting people living with hoarding disorder. Back then, there weren’t any outreach based services in Melbourne.

My 20 years of experience and education have focused on mental illness, trauma informed care and person-centered recovery. If you are looking for someone to assist, please make sure they have lots of mental health training and experience, assistance from an professional organiser is not what people need. Removing the items doesn’t fix the problem!

For the Crowded House has been a registered provider with NDIS for 8 years and is engaged by the Department of Health and Human Services Housing and Child Protection divisions.

Over the years, I’ve devised and delivered over 400 training sessions across Australia, delivered Buried in Treasures support groups and I wrote the first children’s book about hoarding in 2014 “An Ordinary House”. This book was launched by Dr Chris Mogan who also wrote the foreword.

I provide therapy (under Capacity Building,) and Improved Daily Living and Assessment and Training (under Core).
